Deleting your account

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in to Orbit Axis.
  2. Go to More, then open Account.
  3. Scroll to Delete your account.
  4. Choose Delete account.
  5. Type DELETE in capitals to confirm.
  6. Choose Delete my account.

The confirmation has to be typed. A single button would be too easy to press by accident for something that cannot be undone.

What is removed

Deletion is verified before you are told it worked. Orbit checks that nothing tied to your account is left behind, and if anything is, it tells you the deletion was incomplete rather than showing a confirmation that is not true.

What is not removed

Reference information that was never yours: astronomical event tables, planetary data, and card definitions. None of it describes you or contains anything you provided.

Orbit's hosting and database providers keep their own short-term operational backups under their standard practice. Orbit does not control those and cannot delete from them on request — this page says so rather than claiming an instant erasure it cannot perform. They expire on those providers' own schedules.

If Orbit ever supports uploaded files, those would be deleted with your account too. There is no file upload today, so there is nothing of that kind to remove.

After deletion

If deletion does not complete

Orbit never reports success unless the account was really removed. If something goes wrong you will see one of these:

Retrying is always safe — a second attempt continues from where the first stopped, and cannot cause damage.
